Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act
We’ve updated this course to reflect the latest legal guidance and best practices. The two-stage capacity test has been reordered so the functional test is assessed before the diagnostic test. Terminology now matches Scottish legislation, replacing ‘mental capacity’ with ‘incapacity’ and ‘continuing attorney’ with ‘financial attorney,’ as recommended in the 2024 consultation. Assessment questions have been refreshed for better alignment, and a new Resources PDF offers useful links for deeper learning. You’ll also notice improved accessibility, easier navigation, and corrected spelling throughout. Released 9 December
Sharps Awareness
We’ve updated this course to reflect the latest legal guidance and best practices. The Examples of Sharps section now covers scalpels, scissors, and other cutting blades. The Information and Training module uses clearer language to explain how Sharps Regulations support health and safety requirements. We removed vaccination references to focus on sharps handling and clarified that needle clippers without built-in containers need separate sharps bin disposal. The Using Your Sharps Bin section now provides step-by-step instructions for closing, locking, and labelling containers. Knowledge check questions have been revised with clear scenarios to reinforce correct techniques. These changes reflect expert feedback and ensure practical guidance for safe sharps handling. Released 17 December
Released in January

Changes include refreshed terminology around gender expression and sexual orientation, more precise neurological language, clearer information on abuse risks for young people with learning disabilities, improved legal accuracy on sexual offences and consent, and reinforced messaging that safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. Released 16 January
Legionella Awareness
We've updated the course to improve accuracy on temperature ranges for legionella growth, clarified notification procedures for legionnaires disease, refined guidance on shower maintenance and flushing protocols, expanded symptom descriptions, and corrected technical details about air conditioning systems and risk assessment review frequencies to align with current HSE guidance. Released 28 January
Working at Height
We’ve improved this course to make it clearer, more accurate, and fully up to date. We replaced outdated or incorrect statistics with verified 2024/25 HSE data so learners get reliable insight into both fatal and non‑fatal incidents. We also clarified when the Work at Height Regulations apply, giving a more practical explanation to help learners understand real‑world situations. Sections of content have been refined to reflect how the course is applicable across different sectors. Released 29 January
Safeguarding and Protection of Adults
We’ve strengthened this course by clarifying scenarios, correcting legal references and definitions, and improving how safeguarding actions are explained. We updated language to remove ambiguity, added missing contexts such as modern slavery and domestic abuse, and refined key messages to ensure the guidance is accurate, consistent, and safer for real‑world practice. Released 29 January
Fluids & Nutrition
This course has been updated following expert review to improve accuracy and practical guidance on nutrition and food safety in care homes. Key updates include clearer information on oral nutritional supplements and fluid calculations, improved food‑handler hygiene guidance, streamlined food safety content, corrected Eatwell Guide terms, enhanced mealtime environment advice, and expanded cleaning procedures.
