The Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS) is an accreditation created by The Law Society for conveyancers to show they're a qualified and trusted conveyancing practice. Firms apply for accreditation with the Law Society then complete a series of courses.

CQS courses

Core courses

The available CQS core courses are listed below.

  • Core Financial Crime

  • Core Protocol in Practice

Update courses

The CQS update courses are listed below.

  • Risk, Compliance and Client Care

  • Conveyancing Practice

📌 Note: CQS Role of the SRO is only available to purchase directly from the Law Society.

CPD for CQS

CQS courses are rewarded for the CPD in time spent, 1 hour equals 1 CPD point, as detailed below.

  • CQS Protocol in Practice equals 1 hour.

  • CQS Financial Crime equals 1 hour 15 minutes.

  • CQS Risk, Compliance and Client Care equals 1 hour 10 minutes.

  • CQS Conveyancing Practice equals 1 hour 15 minutes.

Proof of completion for Law Society

Once you have completed your CQS courses, you need to send proof of completion to the Law Society.

To do this, create a new report using relevant criteria or utilise available default reports.

CQS course resets

Due to rules stipulated by the Law Society, if you don't achieve the pass score of a CQS course after three attempts, an administrator needs to request a reset to attempt the course again.

⚠️ Important: The course must be completed in its entirety after being reset.

The administrator should raise a new case online, referencing the title of this article and including the following details.

  • Name and firm name.

  • Site URL.

  • The exact name of the CQS activity that needs resetting.

  • The name of the user who needs the activity reset.
