Access LMS Evo September 2026 Release Notes

Written by Alexandra Ridgway

Here's a look at what's new across Access LMS Hub and Access LMS².

New Features in Beta

Events Manager Dashboard: Calendar and Upcoming Panels Redesigned

image

While in Beta, customers told us the dashboard calendar wasn't showing enough at a glance, a day with events just showed a dot, and you had to click in to see what was actually scheduled. We've acted on that feedback.

The calendar now sits centre stage with four view modes, Day, Work Week, Week and Month, so you can see event names, types and publish status directly on the calendar without clicking in first. Where a day has more events than can be shown, a "+X more" button opens a panel listing everything for that day, from which you can jump straight to an event's details or switch into Day view.

The Upcoming Events and Upcoming Event Series lists have moved to the right hand side, still showing your next five items each with time, duration, location and registration details, just repositioned to make room for the bigger calendar. Both lists paginate if you've got more than five, and a "View all" link takes you to the full Events table.

New Event Creation Wizard, now in Beta

image

Say goodbye to the old 26-tab event screen. We've rebuilt event creation into a streamlined 4-step wizard: Event Basics, Schedule & Sessions, Compliance & Certification, and Review.

We'd noticed customers stretching a single event across multiple days when it didn't quite fit their series criteria, which threw CPD, timings and locations out of sync. Multi-session events solve that, giving you one event with multiple sessions, each with its own dates, locations and instructors.

We've also added hybrid events, for when some attendees join in person and others dial in virtually, and admins can now save events as a draft or publish straight away, whichever suits the moment.

Improvements

CPD Dropdowns Now Show You There's More to Scroll

image

We've fixed an issue where some dropdown menus, including the CPD Year, Hours and Minutes fields, gave no visual clue that there was more content below what was immediately visible. Previously, you'd only discover the extra options once you'd started scrolling.

Now, as soon as you open one of these dropdowns, you'll see straight away if there's more to scroll through.

'Your Enrolled Programmes' Heading Removed from CPD Belt

image

We've removed the "Your enrolled programmes" heading that used to sit above the CPD belt on the learner homepage. The belt itself, including "My CPD" and the Add CPD / View CPD buttons, is unaffected and still works exactly as before, this was just a redundant label sitting above it.

To make the belt easier to find and manage, we've also renamed it in Homepage Designer > Belts, from "Your enrolled programmes" to "CPD". You can still enable, disable and reorder it the same way as before, only the label has changed.

Attachment Limits Now Shown Before You Upload CPD

We've added helper text to the CPD attachment upload area, so you can see the file limits before you try to add anything.

Previously, if you tried to attach a file that was too large, too numerous, or the wrong type, you'd only find out after the upload failed. Now, you'll see the maximum number of files you can attach and the accepted file types directly under the upload control, before you get started.

This applies to the CPD entry panel when adding or editing a CPD record.

Character Limits Now Live on CPD Entry Fields

As mentioned in a previous update, we're rolling out consistent character validation across text fields on the platform. This has now landed on the CPD entry fields, Development Need, Learning Outcomes and Reflective Statement.

You'll now see the maximum (4,000 characters) stated upfront, along with a live counter as you type that changes colour as you approach the limit. Previously, going over this limit could result in your entry appearing to save successfully while content beyond the limit was actually lost. That's no longer possible, the field now stops you at the limit and makes clear when you've reached it.

Improved Discovery Experience: Phase 1 – Finder to Searcher

As part of our changes to the discovery experience, we've replaced the "Finder" label with a search box in the navigation. This makes it immediately clear to new users where to search — especially important ahead of the Discover page release, which will create a dedicated space for browsing.
