Access LMS Evo August 2026 Release Notes

Written by Alexandra Ridgway

Here's a look at what's new across Access LMS Hub and Access LMS².

Managers can now take action faster with a new Action Items belt on the Team dashboard, bringing pending forms and approvals into one convenient view.

We're also preparing to launch Discover, a new content browsing experience with search-first navigation, making it easier to find what matters.

In addition, Gamebrain is once again available on Google Play, while consistent character limits and refined permissions scoping are being rolled out across multiple areas to deliver a more predictable and secure experience.

New Features in Production

Action items belt on the Team dashboard

Managers no longer need to leave the dashboard to see what needs their attention. Pending forms and approvals for their team now show up as a scrolling belt right where they land.

  • Each card shows who it's for, the type of activity, and its due date, with icons and status indicators making it easy to tell forms and approvals apart at a glance.

  • Clicking a card opens a side panel with the full detail for that item, so managers can act without leaving the page or hunting through a separate list.

Coming Soon

Improved discovery experience

We're excited to introduce Discover — a new browsing experience that puts your content library front and centre. Instead of relying solely on Finder to search for content, learners can now explore relevant content to your organisation with what's new, top-rated content, shorts (if available), upcoming events, and your curated categories. It's designed to help them find inspiration and discover resources they didn't know they needed.

As part of this change, we will replace the Finder label with a search box in the navigation, making it immediately clear where to search, especially important now that Discover provides a dedicated space for browsing.

Improvements

Gamebrain app: back in the Google Play Store

The Gamebrain app was temporarily unavailable to download from the Google Play Store from early June. This has now been fixed and the app is available again.

  • If you already had Gamebrain installed on your device, you weren't affected. The app continued working as normal throughout.

  • This only affected new downloads, so new users or anyone installing onto a new phone.

Consistent character limits coming to text fields (rolling out across multiple areas)

We've built a more consistent way of validating text field length across the platform, and you'll start to see it appear as we update different areas.

Where it lands, you'll see a live character counter as you type and a clear warning once you're approaching the limit. If you go over, the Save button disables itself along with a message telling you the content exceeds the limit, and it re-enables as soon as you bring it back under.

This is going into Events and other areas as each is updated, so you'll see the same improvement land more than once over the coming weeks and months rather than all at once. We'll flag it again in context each time.

Tightened permissions scoping (rolling out across multiple areas)

We've built a more consistent way of managing user and group permissions behind the scenes, and you'll start to see it appear as we update different areas of the platform.

The first thing you'll notice, wherever it appears, is a tighter set of users and groups shown when setting access permissions. Instead of seeing every user or group in the system, you'll only see those relevant to your role and reporting scope. This makes it quicker to find the right person or group, particularly in larger organisations.

This is going into Events, Template Hub, Resources and Content Manager as each of those areas is updated, so you'll see the same improvement land more than once over the coming weeks and months rather than all at once. We'll flag it again in context each time.

📌 Note: Releases are rolled out gradually over a two-week period. Some users may receive updates earlier than others.
