Mandatory Training enables tagging content under specific categories, such as Health and Safety or Compliance. This supports progress tracking by pulling data into forms and generating reports for effective monitoring.
Enable mandatory training
Super administrators on LMS² and administrators on LMS Hub sites can enable and configure mandatory training in Access LMS Evo.
To do this follow the below steps.
Switch to admin view.
Click Settings, then click Global Settings.
Click the Available Features tab, then click Mandatory Training.
Toggle on Mandatory Training.
Click the Configuration Options tab.
Amend the settings as needed.
Click Save.
Mandatory training settings
Setting | Explanation |
Display RAG status based on | Set whether RAG status for mandatory training categories is based on certificate expiry date or module due date.
This doesn't impact the Compliance apps in Access Evo, which always use certificate expiry date.
Amend how the RAG status appears for modules in Access LMS Evo apps to track user progress. |
Certificate Regime Mandatory Training Category | Select an existing mandatory training category to be used for the certification regime, to monitor the fit & proper status of the certified population and how many staff are certified at a given time.
The app is configured using mandatory training categories which are tagged to track fit & proper. |
Amber Indicator | How many days before due date/certificate expiry date that the amber indicator should display.
The amber indicator displays in various areas of Access LMS Evo, such as My Team Activity and My Mandatory Training. |
Qualifications | The number of months before a qualification expires when a notification appear.
Relates to the qualification feature and information displayed in the Compliance app. |
Create and manage mandatory training categories
Create mandatory training categories to tag content as specific types of mandatory training. For example, health and safety or compliance. This helps to track users progress through mandatory training by pulling the data into forms and reports.
To create and manage mandatory training categories watch the video or follow the steps below.
Switch to admin view.
Click Settings, then click Global Settings.
Click the Manage Features tab, then click Mandatory Training.
Click Add Category.
Click the pencil Icon to rename.
Click the tick icon to save.
Repeat steps 4 to 6 to create multiple new categories.
Click Save and Confirm.
Tag modules to mandatory training categories
After enabling mandatory training, tag modules to one or more of the mandatory training categories to track a user's progress through completing mandatory training.
To do this, follow the below steps.
Search for and select the relevant content in content manager.
Click the Advanced Settings tab and scroll down to the Mandatory Training section.
Select the relevant categories.
Click Save to apply the changes.
