To learn more about question bank templates, watch this video or follow the below guidance.
The downloaded question bank template will be pre-populated with headings. Do not delete these headings as Access LMS Evo reads these when the question bank is uploaded.
Each question must appear in it's own row without spaces (empty rows) in between. The below table provides guidance on how to populate fields.
Column | Mandatory or optional | Notes |
ExternalId | Mandatory | All questions must have unique ID within the Question Bank. For example: Q001, Q002 or DD001, DD002 etc. |
ModuleCodes | Optional | Link the question to a module by pasting the relevant module code.
The code must be unique to your organisation and already assigned to a module in Access LMS Evo prior to use in a question bank.
Copy the code from the eCreator's administration area then paste it into the Module Codes column. If a code hasn't been assigned to the course, you can add one at this point.
Can be left blank but to use the question bank for diagnostic assessments it needs to be linked to the questions in the relevant modules. |
Type | Mandatory | Type of answer required for the question. Can be one of the below options.
MultipleChoice (no spaces): Users are asked to select correct answers from the choices offered as a list.
LikertScale (no spaces): A closed question which provides a list of single choice answers.
FreeFormText (no spaces): An open question which allows for a comment style answer. π Note: Not recommended for assessments, as they don't contribute to scoring.
Range: A rating style question which invites the user to select a number along a scale. The minimum (min) and maximum (max) number are specified in the template along with the increment (step) the slider increases or decreases when moved. Provides a comment box allowing users to explain their rating. π Note: Not recommended for assessments, as they don't contribute to scoring. |
Deleted | Mandatory | Enter Yes or No. Entering Yes will mark questions as deleted and retire them from the bank. |
QuestionText | Mandatory | Enter the question text presented to the user.
π Note: Maximum of 4000 characters. |
Min | Range type questions only | Provide a minimum value for the slider on a range type question. |
Max | Range type questions only | Provide a maximum value for the slider on a range type question. |
Step | Range type questions only | Provides an increment for the slider on a range type question. i.e. how much the slider will go up by when moved. |
Feedback | Optional | Feedback related to the question, presented to the user after completing the assessment. |
Reference | Optional | Enter additional resources such as further reading. |
CorrectAnswers | Dependent on question type | A comma-separated list of the correct answers.
π Note: FreeFormText & Range type questions do not require this column populating. |
Points | Mandatory | Allocate different weights to your questions using points, which can relate to how critical or important each question is.
A value between 1-10 can be added within the point column.
β οΈ Important: The points for each question apply only if the assessment is set to weighted marking; if set to standard marking the weight of the question will be overridden with the standard score of 1 point.
π Note: If weighted questions are not required a value of 1 will need to be added to the points column for each question |
AnswersOrdered | Dependent on question type | Dictates if answers must appear in the order they are entered into the template.
For the answers to be randomised, put No in this column.
If using a Likert Scale then you'll need to put Yes in this column. |
Answer1,Answer2 | Dependent on question type | Enter the possible answers for users to choose from.
No set amount required. Leaving the field blank means it won't be shown in the assessment so there's no need to delete any redundant columns.
π Note: FreeFormText & Range type questions do not require this column populating. |
Library1,Library2 | Mandatory | Categorise the question to make it easier to find when creating assessments or surveys. |
