Question banks in Access LMS Evo support the creation of Assessments and Surveys. These banks feed into assessments either through manual selection or automatic inclusion in diagnostic assessments.
Both LMS Hub and LMS² sites can use pre-existing question banks to build Assessments and Surveys.
LMS² sites can also create custom question banks, enabling tailored assessment content.
Creating a question bank involves downloading a template, adding the required questions, and uploading the completed file.
Questions can be linked to specific content for use in diagnostic assessments. Existing question banks can be updated by downloading the current template, making changes, and re-uploading it to apply updates.
To ensure smooth updates, download the current Question Bank file as a CSV/template, make necessary edits or corrections, and re-upload the file into the system. Unique question IDs in the system allow precise tracking of changes. To retire a question, mark the Deletion column as Yes for that question.
🤓 Tip: Assessments linked to questions in the Question Bank automatically reflect any updates made, ensuring consistency and saving time without requiring manual intervention.
The below table details the available question types.
Question type | Description |
Multiple choice | Choose from several answerable options.
Primarily suitable for Assessments. |
Likert scale | Choose from several predetermined options with a different visual look to multiple choice.
Suitable for both Assessments and Surveys. |
Range | Click and drag a slider to choose from a range of available options.
Primarily suitable for Surveys, as Range questions cannot be used for assessable questions. |
FreeFormText | Type comments in response to the question presented.
Primarily suitable for Surveys as FreeFormText questions cannot be used for assessable questions. |
Hotspot questions
Hotspot questions can also be added to a question bank to create interactive and visually engaging knowledge checks. These questions use uploaded images with clickable hotspots that serve as answer points.
Unlike standard questions, hotspot questions are not added via template. Instead, they are created individually within the question bank as needed. Additionally, hotspot questions can be edited directly within the Question Bank using the in-place edit (pencil) option, allowing for quick fixes and minor updates.
