Subject matter experts continue to review our courses on a periodic cycle and, whilst implementing their feedback, the team ensure the latest quality and consistency guidance is applied. Find out more about phasing out inbuilt voiceover.
We've decided to bring a new design to the downloadable Course Resources PDF that we provide with our courses. The new design is balanced with visual elements, allowing for a better alignment between text and graphics.
The new design follows a more subtle colour palette and ensures accessibility with the appropriate font format and page layout. Additionally, we are providing a short description along each hyperlink. The new design focuses on accessibility and blends both text and graphic elements better.
The new design helps you:
Recognise the hyperlink's purpose.
Explore the hyperlinks based on your interests with reduced click fatigue.
Associate the description of each hyperlink with your knowledge gaps.
Avoid cognitive overload and only retain information that is relevant to you.

In collaboration with our Subject Matter Experts, we have updated the course content on the topic of Pressure ulcers risk assessing. We have decided to bring a slight update to the course title for better alignment with the content. Focusing on a practical approach, the new title is Pressure Ulcer Risk Assessing.
We've updated knowledge and terminology on the composition of skin, such as the skin layers and what damage to these layers can cause. We have removed and replaced content within the Pressure Ulcer categories section to align with the latest information on Mucosal Pressure Ulcers and Vulnerable Skin/Deep Tissue Injuries.
Additional updates have been made on the formally known unstageable pressure ulcers according to the National Wound Care Strategy Programme (NWCSP) recommendations. We've added guidance on using the relevant risk assessment tools such as PURPOSE-T provided by NICE. Other informational updates have been made on the outcomes of incontinence and reduced mobility, and the Waterlow risk assessment.
For accessibility purposes, we've decided to extract essential content from the multiple-choice questions and include it into the course Transcript. We made further accessibility improvements by removing the VO and replacing inaccessible components. Additional hyperlinks were added to the downloadable Resources to support further learning.
This course update helps you:
Identify the pressure grading system for accurate risk assessment.

Categorise pressure ulcers and skin issues according to the latest information.
Recognise the importance of recording the assessment in relevant risk assessment tools.
