Administrators and content creators can create fixed assessments, which can be used to include specific questions. Sections can be built into a fixed assessment with independent pass marks.

Fixed assessments can be included in a course with other modules or act as stand-alone module itself.

⚠️ Important: A question bank of questions must be available to use to create a fixed assessment.

Create a fixed assessment

  1. Switch to admin view.

  2. Click Content, then select All Content.

  3. Click the Assessment tile.

  4. Enter a name then click Create Assessment.

Add questions to a fixed assessment

Administrators and content creators can add questions to a fixed assessment, as long as it doesn't draw questions from related learning, for example, diagnostic assessments or pathway assessments.

The Questions tab is where to add questions, manage the order questions appear and set pass marks.

🤓 Tip: It's recommended to add more questions than will be asked in the assessment. This decreases the chances of the user being asked the same questions if they need to take the assessment more than once.

To add questions to a fixed assessment, follow the steps below.

  1. Switch to admin view.

  2. Click Content, then click All Content.

  3. Click Manage, then search for and select the relevant assessment.

  4. Click the Questions tab, then click Add Questions.

  5. Search for and select relevant questions.

  6. Click Add Questions.

Remove questions from a fixed assessment

  1. Switch to admin view.

  2. Click Content, then click All Content.

  3. Click Manage, then search for and select the relevant assessment.

  4. Click the Questions tab, then click Edit Questions.

  5. Click the X to the right of any question to remove from the question pool.

    • Note: Keep more questions in the question pool than the user is asked in the assessment.

  6. Click on the Back link.
