Control various options of how modules are presented in a created course by setting the order users complete the modules or make a module optional, therefore not counting towards the completion status of the whole course.
There are three types of module settings.
Rollup Settings. How the individual modules contribute to the overall status of the course.
Sequencing Rules. Determine whether certain modules need to be completed in sequence.
Registration Settings. Determine whether a module is always registered with the course or can be registered separately to appear in the course.
See the relevant table below to learn more about each.
Rollup settings
Setting | Function |
Completion status | Selected by default.
Remove selection to make corresponding module optional. |
Time Spent | Selected by default.
Shows the time a user has spent on the module and counts toward total time spent on the course. Can be helpful when running reports. |
Score | Selected by default.
Shows scores users have obtained on assessments and counts toward the cumulative score for the complete course.
Only applicable for assessment modules or if the module is a course containing an assessment. This can be helpful when running Reports.
📌Note: If more than one module in a course with score selected, the score which rolls up to the parent course is an aggregate score across the number of modules. |
Success status | Select for assessment modules if users must pass it for the course to be marked as complete.
Only applicable for assessment modules or another course containing an assessment. |
Sequencing rules
