Administrators can view and update a user's attempt status for a module. This is useful, for example, if a user has already completed the module and needs their status corrected.
⚠️ Important: The attempt status tracks a user's efforts to complete a module and is different from the completion status.
The various attempt statuses, where they're applicable and how they work are detailed in the below table.
Status | Applicable to | Notes |
Update Time Spent | All module types with a completed status. | You can view and manually edit the time spent on each attempt by clicking the recorded duration. Use the drop-downs to set a new time and add notes explaining the change. If CPD logging is enabled, the updated time appears in the user's CPD log.
📌 Note: The edited time can exceed the module’s recommended CPD duration. |
Mark attempt as void | All module types with a completed status. | Voids the user's attempt (time set to 0:00) and resets their status to Not Attempted. Voided attempts don’t count toward the module’s attempt limit. |
Restore Attempt | Module where user's previous attempt has been voided. | Restores a previously voided attempt, returning the user to their original attempt status. |
Re-open attempt | Assessments and Surveys only | Re-opens the assessment, allowing the user to edit their answers and re-submit. |
Mark as completed | All module types with an Incomplete status. | Marks the user as Completed for the module without taking into account any obtained score. Only applicable for users with an Incomplete status. |
