Administrators and content creators can set a recommended CPD time for a module or course.

⚠️ Important: Vendor content purchased from Access already has recommended CPD time assigned to it and cannot be changed.

CPD schemes values differently, depending on the scheme being used. Once a User has completed a module or course, it appears in their CPD log with the relevant time recorded against it.

To set a recommended CPD time, watch this video or follow the relevant steps below.

Set recommended CPD time for a course

The way recommended CPD time for a course functions depends on the CPD scheme in use.

  • For time spent CPD schemes, CPD is capped at this figure. If a user spends more time than the recommended CPD hours, they will only receive the amount specified in the recommended CPD hours box.

  • For hours CPD schemes, CPD is always awarded according to the amount in the recommended CPD hours box regardless of the time actually spent.

By default, courses automatically calculate CPD time based on the modules contained within it, however it can be manually overwritten.

To do this, follow the steps below.

  1. Switch to admin view.

  2. Click Content, then click All Content.

  3. Click Manage, then search for and select the relevant course.

  4. Click the Advanced Settings tab.

  5. Click Edit. Enter the recommended CPD Hours.

    • This figure is expressed as a decimal figure, for example, 30 minutes = 0.5.

  6. Add further customisation to the CPD time allocated using the available fields.

  7. Click Save.
